Gradings

Gradings take place every 4 months, but not every student will grade. To qualify for a grading each student must demonstrate their knowledge and techniques. Along with this they must also have attended the minimum required lessons and have shown a positive attitude and behaviour during classes.
As the student progresses up through the grades, the length of time between gradings increases. This is because the information and skills required to qualify to the next stage increases.
When a student passes their grading they receive the next colour belt and a certificate as proof of their hard work and new qualification.
It can be a long road but if it was easy, what would be the point? However, it can be said that anything worth doing, is worth doing well and this takes time.
Grading results and pass grades are officially registered and this adds credance to the hard work of the student.
We have been successfully grading students for over three years now.
Sensei saskia is always proud of our students during the grading and as an instructor, she can empathise with them. She always remembers when she was in the students shoes and how much she wanted to do her best to get a good pass mark.
*Please note* becoming officially licensed to practice karate involves an official procedure. You must realise that first you must be taught by a registered instructor. Your instructor should be happy to provide their credentials if asked. In the case of Sasen Ryu´s chief instructor, (Sensei Saskia), she is officially endorsed and licensed to teach karate by the TRADKA.UK, FEKO and IOKA. Her full membership to these allows her to both teach and officially register her students.
Sensei Saskia is licensed, has a clean CRH/CRB check, first aid qualified, authorised to teach karate with no restrictions, undergoing constant training with a network of prestigious martial artists and fully insured. (Insurance for injury only payable if instructor is qualified and registered). Always check this out with your instructor as non-qualified/unregistered instructors may invalidate any claims for injury.
After each grading, a students pass mark and grade is sent off to TRADKA.UK to be registered and then endorsed in your licence record book.
Always ask if you do not understand the licensing procedure as clubs can vary. Don´t just accept someone´s word for genuine licensing.
